Section 102: Purpose

This Ordinance is enacted to promote, protect and facilitate public health, safety, morals, general welfare, coordinated and practical community development, and proper density of population. It also provides for adequate light and air, police protection, vehicle parking and loading space, transportation, water, sewerage, schools, public grounds and other public requirements, as well as to prevent overcrowding of land, blight, danger and congestion in travel and transportation, loss of health, life, or property from fire, flood, panic or other dangers. This Ordinance is also enacted to encourage the maintenance and management of forested or wooded open space, and to promote the conduct of forestry as a sound and economically viable use of forested land throughout the Township. This Ordinance is enacted in accordance with an overall planning program, and with consideration for the character of Rapho Township, its various parts and the suitability of the various parts for particular uses and structures.
